Typhoon was founded in UK in 1947 by Oscar Gugen. He was an avid diver so he started producing diving wetsuits. His company was the first one in UK to make wetsuits and soon became one of the market leaders in diving and sailing equipment. He also started a diving club that is one of the largest ones today. In 1996 company was bought by the Bibby family who invested heavily to modernize the company. Today they are the largest manufacturer of drysuits in the world.
